A cradle makes checkering so much easier - and the results so much better - that we have never met a professional stockmaker who did not use a checkering cradle! Two of the most important advantages of a good checkering cradle are: 1) It allows you to work with both hands and rotate the stock as you checker across the pattern, keeping the work area at the most comfortable, controlled position. This eliminates the clumsy and difficult task of trying to work around a stationary stock - sometimes almost to the point of standing on your head - and following the pattern correctly from border to border. 2) Prevents the back and forth wobble that kills the cutting action of the checkering tools. If the stock is not securely held, it will move with the cutter. This movement lets the cutter grab the stock and makes it almost impossible to cut straight, even lines of uniform depth. Simple in design, low in cost, of rugged wood construction and highly practical. Adjustable to hold rifle stocks up to 33" long (which will include all stocks except Mannlicher-style) and all shotgun stocks and forends. Holds the stock rigidly, without marring finish, yet permits turning of the stock as the work progresses. Convenient also for stock inletting, sanding, staining and finishing. Bolt directly to the bench, or lock into a sturdy vise. Comes complete with all holders, bolts and instructions.

Herstellerproduktnummer: 080026000 050806104105 Eine Spannvorrichtung macht das Schachbrettieren so viel einfacher - und das Ergebnis so viel besser -, dass wir noch keinen professionellen Büchsenmacher getroffen haben, der keine Schachbrettierspannvorrichtung verwendet! Zwei der wichtigsten Vorteile einer guten Schachbrettierspannvorrichtung sind: 1) Sie ermöglicht es dir, mit beiden Händen zu arbeiten und den Schaft zu drehen, während du das Muster schachbrettierst, wobei der Arbeitsbereich stets in der bequemsten, kontrolliertesten Position bleibt. Dies eliminiert die umständliche und schwierige Aufgabe, um einen stationären Schaft herumzuarbeiten - manchmal fast bis zum Punkt, an dem man auf dem Kopf stehen muss - und das Muster korrekt von Rand zu Rand zu verfolgen. 2) Verhindert das Hin- und Herwackeln, das die Schneidaktion der Schachbrettierwerkzeuge zunichte macht. Wenn der Schaft nicht sicher gehalten wird, bewegt er sich mit dem Schneider. Diese Bewegung lässt den Schneider den Schaft packen und macht es fast unmöglich, gerade, gleichmäßige Linien einheitlicher Tiefe zu schneiden. Einfach im Design, niedrig im Preis, aus robustem Holz gefertigt und äußerst praktisch. Verstellbar, um Gewehrschäfte bis zu 33" (83,8 cm) Länge zu halten (was alle Schäfte außer Mannlicher-Stil umfasst) und alle Flintenschaften und Vorderschäfte. Hält den Schaft starr, ohne die Oberfläche zu beschädigen, und erlaubt gleichzeitig das Drehen des Schaftes, während die Arbeit fortschreitet. Ebenfalls praktisch für das Einlassen des Schafts, Schleifen, Beizen und Finishen. Direkt an der Werkbank zu verschrauben, oder in einen stabilen Schraubstock einzuspannen. Komplett mit allen Halterungen, Bolzen und Anleitungen geliefert.
