All barrels are chambered in 5.56 NATO, so they accept both military-type 5.56x45mm and civilian .223 Remington ammo. The DRP (Distinct Rigid Profile) is a stocky profile designed for short pistol / SBR barrels. On their longer AR-15 barrels, the Ballistic Advantage folks eliminated sharp shoulders and smoothed the tapers to symmetrically limit barrel "whip" caused by vibrations and flexing during prolonged shooting. This also controls barrel harmonics, so the barrel returns quickly to its "home" position after each shot - highly beneficial for follow up shots at a high rate of fire or even full-auto fire.
