The Big Boy Steel Side Gate hangs its 20″ or 16.5″ round barrel and checkered walnut furniture on a matte-finished blued steel frame that’s drilled & tapped for optional scope mounts, and uses the same adjustable Western-style sights as the standard Big Boy, with the same sliding transfer bar “safety” system in its hammer. Most of the weight savings is due to the steel frame being lighter than a brass counterpart to begin with, and less steel in the thinner barrel walls than an octagon version. To make sure the steel Big Boy stays easy on the shoulder in any of its three calibers, the .357 Magnum/.38 Special, .44 Magnum/.44 Special, and .45 Colt; we use a black solid rubber recoil pad. For hands-free hiking up or down, it wears sling swivel studs; and we’ve also added a rifle-style fore-end cap instead of the usual carbine-type barrel band. For added versatility, we included a side loading gate and retained the removable tube magazine for easy top-offs, and quick, safe unloading. Herstellerproduktnummer: H012GCR 619835200334 Das Big Boy Steel Side Gate präsentiert seinen 20″ oder 16,5″ runden Lauf sowie das geriffelte Walnussholz auf einem mattierten, gebläuten Stahlrahmen, der für optionale Zielfernrohrmontagen gebohrt & getappt ist und die gleichen verstellbaren Western-Stil Visiere wie der Standard Big Boy verwendet, mit dem gleichen gleitenden Transferbar „Sicherheits“-System im Hammer. Der größte Teil der Gewichtsersparnis resultiert daraus, dass der Stahlrahmen von vornherein leichter ist als ein Messing-Pendant und weniger Stahl in den dünneren Laufwänden als bei einer achteckigen Version verwendet wird. Um sicherzustellen, dass das Stahl Big Boy auch in einer seiner drei Kaliber, dem .357 Magnum/.38 Special, .44 Magnum/.44 Special und .45 Colt, schulterfreundlich bleibt, verwenden wir ein schwarzes, solides Gummischulterpolster. Für das freihändige Wandern bergauf oder bergab ist es mit Riemenbügeln ausgestattet; außerdem haben wir eine gewehrtypische Vorderschaftkappe anstelle der üblichen Karabinerartigen Laufbandage hinzugefügt. Für zusätzliche Vielseitigkeit haben wir eine seitliche Ladeklappe eingebaut und das herausnehmbare Röhrenmagazin beibehalten, für einfaches Nachladen sowie schnelles, sicheres Entladen.
