Rugged, Reliable, Always-Deployed Relief Sighting

Lightweight, streamlined backup sights are built on the K.I.S.S. principle to ensure the tactical operator has a reliable, always-deployed sighting option if the main optic fails. One-piece design slides easily on a MIL-STD 1913 rail and clamps securely with a single machine screw. Rounded edges and recessed attachment screws resist snagging on other gear. A1.5 Rear Sight combines the windage adjustment drum of the original USGI A1 rear sight and a flip-up A2 aperture with large .190" peep for close range and .060" peep for long-range targeting. Compact profile doesn’t hang over the rear of the receiver to interfere with the shooter’s access to the charging handle.

SPECS: 6061 T6 aluminum, Type III hardcoat anodized, matte black. A1.5 Rear Sight -13⁄8" (3.5cm) long, 1¼" (3.2cm) wide, 15⁄8" (4.1cm) high from top of receiver rail to top of sight housing. 1.7 oz. (49g) weight.

Leichte, stromlinienförmige Backup-Visiere, die nach dem K.I.S.S.-Prinzip gebaut sind, um dem taktischen Bediener eine zuverlässige, immer einsatzbereite Visieroption zu bieten, falls das Hauptvisier ausfällt. Das einteilige Design lässt sich leicht auf einer MIL-STD 1913 Schiene schieben und mit einer einzigen Maschinenschraube sicher befestigen. Abgerundete Kanten und versenkte Befestigungsschrauben widerstehen dem Hängenbleiben an anderer Ausrüstung. Das A1.5 Rear Sight kombiniert die Windage-Einstelltrommel des originalen USGI A1 Hintergrundvisiers und eine hochklappbare A2 Blende mit großem .190" Peep für den Nahbereich und .060" Peep für die Langstreckenzielung. Das kompakte Profil ragt nicht über das hintere Ende des Empfängers hinaus und stört so nicht den Zugang des Schützen zum Ladehebel.

I own two of these: one on 9mm carbine and one on 16,5" AR. Wanted a light and simple solution for rear sight. It has all thats needed for close to medium range sighting and nothing more.

Adjustment of windage will not change by accident. Actually it's quite hard when you want to adjust it too! Have used a tip of 5.56 round to press the plunger and screwdriver to adjust the setting.

I do not like the screw DD uses for tightening. The screw is quite soft and driver tends to slip unless it fits perfectly. Torx screw would be the answer.

The aperture used in these is low quality. I have seen three sights and the aperture varies from awful to tolerable. The peeps are not in the center and the aperture is visibly off horizontally. Aperture can be changed afterwards.

Despite all this I would recommend to buy this if flip up feature is not needed. The cons are not so remarkable.

Best Fixed Iron Sight for the Money (25.07.2012)

Highly Accurate right out of the box. Solid and American made, just mount this sight on your flat top and go shooting. My only complaint is that the A1 style dial is hard to rotate, but not much windage adjustment is needed, just set sight one click right or left and leave it. The DD A1.5 sight also has a notch in it so that it can be returned to zero after being adjusted. This sight is the best out of many simillarly priced fixed and adjustable iron sights.

My RRA M4 build is based on reliability for the long haul. At 58 my eyes also need consideration. I find this sight to be built like a tank but low in weight.

First impression is the larger aperature is more help than previous sights rings.

This sight is not compromised by traveling in my soft case as previous other sights have done.

I bought a 2 sided tool that is small on one end to adjust the front sight pin and larger at the other end for adjusting the aperature and both make life easier.

Sight was easy to sight in and has remained "locked" in position. My red dot is set to lower 1/3rd co-witness so I dont need to flip up, flip down, flip up... I simply look over the ring with head up for quicker acquisitions.

I have finally found a rear sight I can trust and like to use. Thumbs up !

This Sight incorporated the simplicity of the A1 sight with an A2 aperture. Quality piece.
